Access to the Advanced Light Microscopy Technology Platform

Access to the microscope systems of the Advanced Light Microscopy (ALM) is open to all interested scientists and research groups from the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), the Berlin Institute for Medical System Biology (BIMSB) and the Experimental and Clinical Research Center (ECRC) as internal users.

For online registration as internal user, please use the User management and Booking system Share ALM by loging in with the MDC AD credentials. Please use IE, Chrome or Safari browser for best functionality of the site and give a short describtion of the planned imaging project.

External users should get in contact with Dr. Anje Sporbert.

Please follow the general usage guidelines for all users of the Advanced Light Microscopy: ALM usage guidelines

Getting access to the microscopes of the Advanced Light Microscopy of the MDC includes:

  • a discussion of the imaging project and selection of the appropriate microscopy technique and imaging method

  • a theoretical seminar on the fundamentals of light and fluorescence microscopy

  • an individual, one-to-one training at the appropriate microscope

  • one additional assisted training session

  • a general introduction to usage rules, booking system, S1 regulations etc.

  • an instruction on laser safety

After these introductory steps, access to the microscope rooms are given and measurement times at the microscopes can be booked via the online booking calendar within the User management and Booking system Share ALM

Additional assisted sessions can always be arranged to clarify uncertainties and to discuss specific applications.
